Henryk Jan Jabłoński (Polish pronunciation: [ˈxɛnrɨk jaˈbwɔɲskʲi]; 27 December 1909 – 27 January 2003) was a Polish historian and politician.After 1948, he became a politician of the ruling Polish United Workers' Party, as well as a historian and professor at Warsaw University.

In 1794 Jabłonowski fought in Tadeusz Kościuszko's uprising against Tsarist Russia. [2] He participated in battles of Szczekociny, Warsaw, Maciejowice, and at Praga.A member of the Polish insurrectionist group Centralizacja Lwowska, he was sent to the Ottoman Empire to gain the support of the Ottoman and French governments for the creation a Polish army to antagonize Russia. During the 1939 Invasion of Poland, the city hall served as headquarters of Warsaw's civil defense. During the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, the German forces destroyed the building. [1] In 1952-58 the city hall's debris was cleared. In the 1990s the building was rebuilt to pre-1936 architectural plans.
