St. Albans School (STA) is an independent college preparatory day and boarding school for boys in grades 4–12, located in Washington, D.C. [2] The school is named after Saint Alban, traditionally regarded as the first British martyr. [3] Within the St. Albans community, the school is commonly referred to as "S-T-A."
St Albans School has also produced some notable historians and historiographers. In medieval times, the school and one of its alumni, Matthew Paris, were closely associated with the St Albans school of medieval historiography, and developed one of the first consistent methods of historical writing. [28]
Verulam School is an 11–18 boys state–funded secondary school with academy status in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England, founded in 1938 as St Albans Boys' Modern School. [ 3 ] The name was changed in the 1940s to St Albans Grammar School for Boys and in 1975 to Verulam School, based on the Roman name for St Albans (Verulamium).

2] The school was founded in 1913 by Charles P. Guice and was then called Central Grade School, which was located on Sixth Avenue and Third Street in St Albans, WV. The class of 1916 were among the first graduates of the High School and after World War 1, student enrollment increased and a new building for the school was built.
