Weir High School is a member of the WVSSAC (West Virginia Secondary School Activity Commission). Due to the school's enrollment, it is known as a AAA athletic school. Weir High School has 20 varsity athletic teams in 13 different sports. Additionally, there are three freshmen-only teams in volleyball and men's basketball.
