Mahadevi Verma (26 March 1907 – 11 September 1987) was an Indian Hindi-language poet, essayist, sketch story writer and an eminent personality of Hindi literature. She is considered one of the four major pillars [a] of the Chhayawadi era in Hindi literature. [1] She has also been addressed as the modern Meera. [2]

Bharatendu Harishchandra (9 September 1850 – 6 January 1885) was an Indian poet, writer, and playwright. He authored several dramas, biographical sketches, and travel accounts with the goal of influencing public opinion. [1] [2] Bharatendu Harishchandra is often considered the father of modern Hindi literature and theatre.
The story appears in Indian textbooks, and its adaptions also appear in moral education books such as The Joy of Living. [5] The story has been adapted into several plays and other performances. Asi-Te-Karave Yied (2008) is a Kashmiri adaption of the story by Shehjar Children's Theatre Group, Srinagar. [6]
Her autobiographical sketch Pak Dandi provides an insight into her childhood days in Shillong and also her early years at Santiniketan and with All India Radio. [ 2 ] Apart from her glittering array of children's literature, she wrote a cookbook, novels for adults ( Sreemoti , Cheena Lathan ), and a biography of Rabindranath Tagore.
