Gangnam District (Korean: 강남구; RR: Gangnam-gu; IPA: [ka̠ŋna̠m.gu]) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, South Korea. The term Gangnam translates to "South of the Han River". Gangnam District is the third largest district in Seoul, with an area of 39.5 km 2 (15.3 sq mi).
The area the park was on previously was used by the military. As Seoul sprawled into Gangnam over time, the area became surrounded by residential buildings. Locals found the lack of nearby greenspace to be frustrating. At first, residents received part of the area as a park, but activities were sometimes restricted due to the military.

Dosan Park (Korean: 도산공원) is a park in the neighborhood of Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea. It was established in 1973 to commemorate An Changho, a Korean independence activist whose art name was Dosan. [1] Inside the park is the Dosan Ahn Chang-ho Memorial Hall to commemorate him as well.

Garosu-gil (Korean: 가로수길) is an upscale area in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea. The name means "tree-lined street", referring to the ginkgo trees planted along the streets in the area. Garosu-gil is known for luxury boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and cafes. [1]
