After the Dominican Republic was established in 1844, an attempt to reopen the university was made by President Pedro Santana in 1859, but this was unsuccessful. [ 1 ] In 1866 the Instituto Profesional (Professional Institute) was created by Jose Gabriel Garcia and Emiliano Tejera in Santo Domingo, providing higher education in the city.

This building, located on John F. Kennedy Avenue, was donated to the Board of Trustees by the Dominican Government. Also donated by the Dominican Government was a large parcel of land near the former Geriatric Hospital. These sites evolved into Campus I and Campus II. As Academic programs were added, the student body enrollment increased.

Organization & Method College or (O&M College) is a university in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. It was founded in 1966 by José Rafael Abinader. It has campus in other cities as well, Santiago de los Caballeros, La Romana, San José de Ocoa, San Felipe de Puerto Plata, Moca, Santo Domingo Este.
