Open up the Group Policy Editor by launching gpedit.msc as an administrator and make the following changes: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data Collection and Preview Builds. Double click Telemetry, hit Enabled, set the value to 0 and click apply.
I usually disable windows defender using Defender Control app and I run Win10 LTSC 2019 which get updates (excluding feature updates) & support until Jan. 2029 very rarely have problems with using the Win10 LTSB/LTSC editions and are stable Edited September 1, 2021 by erpdude8
Yes, I am happy too that VSS Capture using WimGAPI and having Defender switched off is bringing success Defender is slowing down the VSS Capture by at least a factor 7 so that it really safes a lot of time when Defender is disabled during Capture. I think that switching off Defender in case of VSS Capture can solve problems.
Windows Defender qurantined a few files on my diagnostic flash drive, which I think meant that they were deleted, but could be restored. Thank you. Amazing. The system is not activated because I didn't connect it to a network and it can't reach a KMS. I used DefenderRemover and Sledgehammer to remove Defender and Windows Update. Boot is still slow.
