The Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon is a green ribbon 1 + 3 ⁄ 8 inches (35 mm) wide. It has a center strip of 1 ⁄ 4 inch (6 mm) of Flag Blue, bordered by 1 ⁄ 16 inch (2 mm) stripes of yellow. Equidistant from the edge and center stripes on each side are 1 ⁄ 8 inch (3 mm) stripes of yellow.
This allows all soldiers in the United States Army to participate in recruiting. All Army personnel, officer, warrant, or enlisted, who make a qualified referral that results in enlistment and shipping out to Basic Combat Training will be eligible for the ribbon. Individuals may earn the award four times, with each award worth 10 promotion points.
Score tables are found in Army FM 7-22 and on Department of the Army Form 705, Army Physical Fitness Test Scorecard. The score for each event ranges from 0 to 100 points; a minimum score of 60 in each event is required to pass the test. The soldier's overall score is the sum of the points from the three events.
