Santee State Park is in the Sandhills of South Carolina on the western edge of the 110,000-acre (445 km 2) Lake Marion. It is located off SC 6, three miles (5 km) northwest of the town of Santee and I-95. [3] The park offers boating, hiking, camping, birding, canoeing and kayaking.
Visitors can rent fishing rods and reels from the park office. [4] Historic, fully furnished cabins built by the CCC are available for lodging. The Riverfront Hall is available for rental, with the ability to accommodate up to 100 people.
Lake Marion is a large man-made lake in central South Carolina. It has a 315-mile (507 km) shoreline and covers nearly 110,000 acres (450 square kilometers or 173.7 square miles) [2] of rolling farmlands, former marshes, and river valley landscape. With territory spanning five counties, the lake is referred to as South Carolina's inland sea.
A boat ramp on allows for lake access with docks available to overnight visitors. Canoes, kayaks, rods and reels are available for rent at the park office. [2] In addition to tent and RV camping, guests can stay overnight in rooms at the lodge or can rent one of the one or two bedroom cabins located at the park.

The Cabin Lake Guard Station is located in a very remote area of the Deschutes National Forest near the forest's boundary with high desert public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Lakeview District. The guard station is made up of six main buildings and several minor structures surrounded by relatively open forest land.
