The RGB color model is an additive color model [1] in which the red, green, and blue primary colors of light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. The name of the model comes from the initials of the three additive primary colors , red, green, and blue.
Systems with a 3-bit RGB palette use 1 bit for each of the red, green and blue color components. That is, each component is either "on" or "off" with no intermediate states. This results in an 8-color palette ((2 1 ) 3 = 2 3 = 8) that has black, white, the three RGB primary colors red, green and blue and their correspondent complementary colors ...
sRGB is a standard numerical encoding of colors, based on the RGB (red, green, blue) color space, for use on monitors, printers, and the World Wide Web.It was initially proposed by HP and Microsoft in 1996 [2] and became an official standard of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as IEC 61966-2-1:1999. [1]
RGB values are usually given in the 0–255 range; if they are in the 0–1 range, the values are multiplied by 255 before conversion. This number divided by sixteen (integer division; ignoring any remainder) gives the first hexadecimal digit (between 0 and F, where the letters A to F represent the numbers 10 to 15. See hexadecimal for more ...
The sum of rgb will always equal one, because of this property the b dimension can be thrown away without causing any loss in information. The reverse conversion is not possible with only two dimensions, as the intensity information is lost during the conversion to rg chromaticity, e.g. (1/3, 1/3, 1/3) has equal proportions of each color, but it is not possible to determine whether this ...

If the color in the top layer is less than fully opaque (alpha < 255), the color from underlying layers "shows through". In the RGB model, hues are represented by specifying one color as full intensity (255), a second color with a variable intensity, and the third color with no intensity (0).
(The numbers 0 through 255 fit naturally within one byte and are therefore used to directly drive graphics cards.) Most image editing programs accept this range. Therefore, RGB should be entered into image editing programs wherever possible because it rarely (if ever) requires conversion.
