The City of Frankston (officially known as Frankston City Council) is a local government area (LGA) in Victoria, Australia in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. It has an area of 130 square kilometres, and in August 2021, the City of Frankston recorded a population of 139,281.
Frankston City Council is composed of nine single-member wards. Prior to the 2024 election, it was composed of three multi-member wards with three members each, but the electoral structure has changed as a result of the Local Government Act 2020. [21]

In 1983, the City of Frankston purchased a former Ministry of Housing rent office at 2 Candlebark Crescent Pines Forest. This served as the community centre for some years before a new building was established in Mahogany Avenue Pines Forest and was later named the Mahogany Neighbourhood Centre before more recently becoming The Frankston North Community Centre.
