The first Modern Urdu translation Mouzeh i Quran was done by Shah Abdul Qadir, son of Shah Waliullah, in 1826. A translation of Quran in both Hindi and Urdu was done by Imam Ahmed Raza Khan in 1911 named as Kanzul Iman. One of the authentic translations of the Qur'an in Urdu was done by Abul A'la Maududi and was named Tafhimu'l-Qur'an.
Girish Chandra Sen (c. 1835 – 15 August 1910) was a Bengali religious scholar and translator. He was a Brahmo Samaj missionary and known for being the first publisher of the Qur’an into Bengali language in 1886. [1] He was praised by Islamic scholars in countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Iran for his choice of words.
He had started to work on an Assamese translation before the Bengali translation was complete. Hoque published the Assamese translation of The Quran in three volumes. He started work on an English translation in 1993. He published a book with more than 1250 pages titled Translation and Commentary on The Holy Quran on April 1, 2000.
