The Education and Literacy Department is a key division of the Government of Sindh, Pakistan, responsible for overseeing the provincial's education system. Its primary role is to manage educational affairs within Sindh and coordinate with the Federal Government and donor agencies to promote education.

Sindh Madressatul Islam University offers four year undergraduate programs and two year master's degrees, however doesn't award doctorate's. As of 2013, this university has 16 faculty members with PhD degrees teaching there. The university is constructing a 15-floor academic tower in its current campus. [7]
The institute was provided with a small room at the old campus of Sindh University in Hyderabad. On 10 December 1972 the foundation stone of the new building was laid just off the Super Highway in Jamshoro, adjacent to Indus river. The three-storey building, located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from Hyderabad, was inaugurated in 1978.
Syed Sardar Ali Shah is a Pakistani politician who served as the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Education, Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities and Archives. [1] He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2013 to 2018, 2018 to 2023 and is also currently a member since 2024.
