Mount Auburn is a town in Jackson Township, Wayne County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. [2] The population was 117 at the 2010 census. The town is sandwiched between Dublin and Cambridge City .
Mount Auburn was laid out and platted in 1837. [4] An old variant name of the community was called Black Hawk. [5] A post office was established under the name Black Hawk in 1838, was renamed to Mount Auburn in 1844, and operated until it was discontinued in 1905. [6] Mount Auburn once contained a school which was in operation by at least 1884.
