As discussed in section 5 above, you must ensure that Calc understands the values you're entering. Calc will interpret 1:22 as one hour and twenty two minutes. There is no way to tell Calc that you want 1:22 to mean one minute and twenty two seconds. To get that value in a cell, either enter 0:1:22 or 1:22.0 or =TIME(0;1;22).

If OpenOffice runs stable in Windows Safe Mode, then the cause is by some program or driver that runs in Windows Normal mode. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Xubuntu 22.04.4 LTS.
