    1. Re: JFK to Central Manhattan hotel at 1 am transport. Nov 4, 2024, 5:52 AM. Easiest would be a yellow taxi... it's a fixed cost at around $100 including toll and tip. Go to the official line and just get a taxi from there. Easier than trying to find the Ride Share Pickup spots, which some are a bus ride away. M.

A taxi from Manhattan to JFK (or vice versa) should cost about $75-80 (including tip) -- this includes tolls. (Metered fares apply to LaGuardia, not JFK.) Unless you are traveling to JFK during rush hour (4-6:30 p.m. weekdays) I would just take a cab or order a car service. It's just easier and less stressful, imo.

Being near a subway stop is important. Being near multiple subway lines is even better. Staying a short train ride outside Manhattan is an option for budget travelers, but then it makes a difference which airport you use. Long Island City in Queens is a good area if you use JFK or LGA. Jersey City near a PATH train is better if you use Newark.

    1. Re: Which side of plane to sit for view. I've flown Delta numerous times, and the only place you get a "view" is the cockpit. You're not allowed in there. The flight comes down the east coast, over Long Island, and then does a 180, and approaches JFK from the south. You don't get to see Manhattan.

    1. Re: Transport from JFK to Manhattan. Taxi is fixed fare, works out to about $75 total anywhere in Manhattan, including tip. Tell them to ONLY follow signs to the official taxi line and ignore any offers of a deal or skipping the line.
