Waldo began his professional career in 1963 by working in various restaurants around Columbus, Ohio. Soon, he began playing in several bands including Gene Mayl's Dixieland Rhythm Kings from Dayton, Ohio. Mayl's band was one of a few select hold-outs dotting the country from the traditional jazz revival of the 1940s.
In 1977, Sheridan received a Master of Music degree from the North Texas State University, and two years later joined the Jim Cullum Jazz Band as an arranger and performer. In 2002, Sheridan left the band and did freelance work, also recording for the Arbors Records jazz record label. [2] In 2011, he returned to the Jim Cullum Jazz Band. [3] [4]
