Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is located lakeside in the center of the Galena Territory. There are 80 rooms in the main lodge, and over 300 private villas. Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort. The Chestnut Mountain ski resort is located in Galena, Illinois, 20 miles southeast of Dubuque, Iowa, in Jo Daviess County. It is visible from a 10-mile radius. The ski resort opened in 1959 and features two restaurants, a lodge with 119 rooms, an indoor pool and hot tub area, as well as several other accommodations.
The new owner renamed the hotel the Northwestern Hotel in 1888. It was renamed to the Grand Hotel when sold to a Mrs. Jones in 1907. The Koummoutseas family purchased the hotel in 1961 and again renamed it the Galena Hotel. It is the oldest hotel still standing in Aurora. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 4, 1976. [1]

Galena Lodge is a Nordic skiing and mountain biking recreation area in the western United States, located in Blaine County, Idaho.Established in 1976 at the location of the former mining town of Galena (1876–1890), [1] the lodge operation is based on a special-use permit from the U.S. Forest Service, the first one issued in the U.S. for a Nordic ski resort.
