Rattlesnake Creek flows to Paint Creek Lake. North Fork Paint Creek, [7] 46.6 miles (75.0 km) long, [4] rises in southeastern Madison County and flows generally southeastwardly through Fayette and Ross Counties, past Frankfort, to its confluence with Paint Creek near Chillicothe. Paint Creek site (14MP1) is an historical site near Lindsborg in McPherson County, Kansas. This ancestral Wichita village is considered part of the Little River focus of the Great Bend aspect and was occupied around 1300 to 1650 CE. [3] The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. [1]
