Kyungpook National University (Korean: 경북대학교; abbreviated as KNU or Kyungdae (경대)) is one of ten Flagship Korean National Universities representing Gyeongbuk Province in South Korea. It is located in Daegu , which used to be the capital city of the Gyeongbuk Province , South Korea .

The university absorbed Seoul College of Pharmacy in September 1950, as the college of Pharmacy. This had previously been a private institution. [6] In 1950, during the Korean War, the university was occupied by North Korea. During which, the Seoul National University Hospital massacre occurred. [7]
