The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (Danish: Kongelige Veterinær- og Landbohøjskole, abbr. KVL, English: Royal Veterinary and Agricultural, abbr. RVA) was a veterinary and agricultural science university in Denmark. It was founded in 1856 and operated until 2007, when it became a part of the University of Copenhagen.
When KVL opened in 1864, it comprised a botanical garden. It was formerly known as Landbohøjskolens Botaniske Have but its official name is now Universitetshaverne (The University Gardens). One of the old greenhouses has been converted into a café. The garden is located to the north and west of the old main building.
In 2007, the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, KVL, merged into the University of Copenhagen, becoming the Faculty of Life Sciences.Departments were not changed until 2012, when the Faculty of Life Sciences was split up and merged with the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
