The Bridgewater Historic District is a historic district in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, United States. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 28, 1996, [ 1 ] it includes buildings built between 1818 and 1933, although the most significant buildings in the district are those that were built before the Civil War in the 1860s.
Bridgewater is located at (40.703827, −80.296715 The borough lies at the confluence of the Ohio and Beaver rivers. According to the United States Census Bureau , the borough has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km 2 ), of which 0.7 square miles (1.8 km 2 ) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km 2 ) (10.39%) is water.

All of the school facilities are in Bridgewater, except for John F. Kennedy School, which is located in Raritan. [ 4 ] As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprising 11 schools, had an enrollment of 8,254 students and 754.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.9:1. St. Marys Catholic Middle School, is located in the same building as the Elk County Catholic High School. The middle school formerly occupied the old Saint Mary's Parochial school building that was built in the early 1950s. Elk County Catholic High School, formally Elk County Christian High School, houses grades 6–12. It was built in 1961.
It was the first structure built by St. Mary's parish, the first Catholic parish in Lawrenceville, and was originally used as both a church and school.
