Johnson began his career writing the Warner Bros. films Grumpy Old Men and its sequel Grumpier Old Men. [1] Johnson wrote and directed two comic book based films, Daredevil and Ghost Rider, [3] as well as the film Simon Birch. Grumpy Old Men was released on DVD on June 25, 1997. On August 22, 2006, the film was made available in a DVD "Double Feature" pack with its sequel Grumpier Old Men. On July 7, 2009, the film was made available on Blu-ray. The "Double Feature" pack was released onto Blu-ray on February 23, 2010.
