Lorain County (/ l ɔː ˈ r eɪ n /) is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Ohio As of the 2020 census, the population was 312,964. [2] Its county seat is Elyria, and its largest city is Lorain. [3] The county was physically established in 1822, becoming judicially independent in 1824. [4]
As of the census [9] of 2010, there were 243 people, 102 households, and 72 families living in the village. The population density was 552.3 inhabitants per square mile (213.2/km 2).
The William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum is the presidential library of 25th U.S. president William McKinley.The library, which is located at the foot of the McKinley National Memorial, is owned and operated by the Stark County Historical Society, and located in Canton, Ohio, where McKinley built his career as lawyer, prosecuting attorney, congressman, governor and president.
He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery on the outskirts of the village. The Spirit of '76 Museum, [4] also located in Wellington, is dedicated to Willard and the history of Wellington. The original drum and fife used as models in the painting are also on display.
