[1] [2] According to the 2020 Mexican census, Guerrero is the 13th most populous state with 3,540,685 inhabitants and the 14th largest by land area spanning 63,803.42 square kilometres (24,634.64 sq mi).
A new class of 11 Pueblos Mágicos was inducted into the program on 1 December 2020, bringing the total to 132. This included the reinstatement of Mexcaltitán, one of the original Pueblos Mágicos, after it lost the designation in 2009. Cutzamala de Pinzón is a city, and the seat of the municipality of Cutzamala de Pinzón, in the Mexican state of Guerrero. As of 2020 the city has a population of 4,717. It is located in the far northwestern part of the state, on the border with Michoacán.
Pedro de Alvarado conquered the area for Spain in 1522, and in 1548 the area was made an encomienda of Tristán de Luna y Arellano. [6] In the late 16th century, Spanish cattle ranchers brought free and enslaved blacks and mulattoes to the area, from whom most of San Nicolás's present-day inhabitants are descended.
The municipality of Santa Cruz del Rincón is located at the headwaters of the Marquelia River in the transition zone between the Costa Chica and the Sierra Madre del Sur of eastern Guerrero. Las Vigas is a municipality in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It is located about 95 kilometres (59 mi) southeast of the state capital of Chilpancingo . Its creation from the municipality of San Marcos was approved in 2021 and went into force on 21 May 2022.
