The Bluff promonotory is a remnant of an extensive coastal dune system that formed along the shoreline of KwaZulu-Natal between two and five million years ago. Bluff Nature Reserve is a 45 hectare protected pan and forest in the suburb of The Bluff, Durban, South Africa. [1] The park was proclaimed in 1974, making it Durban's oldest nature reserve, [2] and is managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. [1] The nature reserve has bird watching facilities which overlook the pan.
