Bethany Christian Trust is a Scotland wide charity which started in Edinburgh focusing on homeless and vulnerable people. The charity was established in 1983 by Rev Alan Berry, then a minister in Leith, Edinburgh, in response to the homeless and vulnerable people he encountered daily.
Bethany Christian was founded to serve Mennonite secondary school students. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] Following a 24,000 sq. ft. addition to the school in 1990, [ 7 ] a middle school was added in 1996, [ 8 ] and grades 4–5 were added in 2011. [ 5 ]

Christian Family Solutions was founded in 1965 as Wisconsin Lutheran Convalescent Home, a joint outgrowth of the Bethany Convalescent Home in Milwaukee and the Lutheran Children's Friend Society in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Later in 1965, the Board of Directors determined that there was a significant need for a child welfare agency within the WELS. [1]
