It is the second-oldest Baptist church in North Carolina [9] (now known as Meherrin Baptist Church). On May 27, 1746, James Jordon Scott sold 150 acres (0.61 km 2 ) on the Meherrin River (part of Wheeler's original grant) to an Irish immigrant, William Murfree from Nansemond County, Virginia .

Blackman is an unincorporated community in Rutherford County, Tennessee, located on the west side of the city of Murfreesboro. [1] The community was founded in 1808 and was originally named Blackman's Shop. By the time of the Civil War, it had a store, doctor's offices, a school, and churches. [2] The Blackman post office was established in 1898.
