National Hospital (Teaching Hospital) Kandy is the second largest hospital in Sri Lanka. The bed strength of the hospital was 2291, as of 2011. [ 2 ] In 2019, Teaching Hospital Kandy was upgraded as the second National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

Asiri Hospital Kandy Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Asiri Hospitals, amalgamated with the company in 2018 and ceased to exist. [10] Four hospitals of the group (Airi Surgical, Asiri Medical and Asiri Galle, Asiri Matara) received accreditation from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International in 2020.
The hospital has a bed strength of 960, as of 2009. [2] It is the second largest hospital in Central Province, Sri Lanka , second only to the National Hospital, Kandy . See also

Faculty of Medicine is situated at the Galaha Junction, Peradeniya, on the other side of the entrance to the Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya.In addition to the buildings located in the main campus, faculty operates a rural field practice area known as "Hindagala Community Health Project" covering 62 square kilometers and with a population of 20,000.
