Anderson won the inaugural Monster Jam World Finals freestyle championship in 2000, and scored a racing championship win at the 2004 World Finals. He won another racing championship at the 2006 World Finals driving Grave Digger 20. Anderson has also won the 2010 World Finals Racing Championship also driving Grave Digger.

On February 28, 2021, it was announced that Gary Porter, creator of Carolina Crusher and former driver of Grave Digger, and Mike Wales, former Senior Director of Fleet Operations, [7] would be inducted as part of the Hall of Fame 2021 Class. [8] Porter and Wales were inducted during a show at NRG Stadium on October 23, 2021. [9]
In 2000, Clear Channel Entertainment hired Porter to drive various trucks for them, notably Ragin' Steel and Spider-Man. The following year, at the behest of longtime friend and rival Dennis Anderson , he began driving Grave Digger 12, whose chassis was similar to that of his last incarnation of Carolina Crusher.
He became known for playing guitar in Grave Digger [1] for about 13 years, for whom he co-wrote many songs during his time in the band. After leaving Grave Digger Lulis and Tomi Göttlich, former bassist of Grave Digger, formed the heavy metal band Rebellion in 2000. Lulis and two other members left Rebellion in 2010.
