Leavenworth High School is a public high school located in Leavenworth, Kansas, operated by Leavenworth USD 453 school district. The school was established in 1865, making it one of the first high schools in Kansas .
As of the 2013–2014 school year, the district's attendance is roughly 7,000. [3]The district encompasses over 100 square miles (260 km 2), serving the city of De Soto and approximately 60% of Shawnee, 40% of Lenexa, fraction of Olathe, and rural parts of the county.
It was organized in 1965 and currently serves 11,427 students from pre-Kindergarten to grade 12 and maintains an early childhood center (pre-k), 13 elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, a K-12 virtual school, and an adult learning center.
