Grants Pass is located in the Rogue Valley; the Rogue River runs through the city. U.S. Route 199 passes through the city, and joins Interstate 5.The city has a total area of 11.03 square miles (28.6 km 2), of which 10.87 square miles (28.2 km 2) is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 km 2) is water.

The mill pond, one of the few remaining landmarks from the lumber mill era, is a central feature of the new park. The Grave Creek watershed is about 20 miles (32 km) north of Grants Pass in the Klamath Mountains. It covers about 104,000 acres (42,000 ha) of which the federal Bureau of Land Management administers about 50,000 acres (20,000 ha) (48 percent). Federal and non-federal lands are intermingled in a checkerboard pattern.
Starvation Heights is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. [1] It is about 4 miles (6 km) north of the community of Rogue River, and 9 miles (14 km) east-northeast of Grants Pass. [2] It lies along East Evans Creek Road off Interstate 5 and Oregon Route 99. [2]
