Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) (Urdu: لاہور یونیورسٹی آف مینجمنٹ سائنسز) is a private research university in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] In 1984, Syed Babar Ali recognized the shortage of qualified managers in the country.
Up to date, the HEC has published rankings for the years 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014 and most recently 2015. [2] In addition to the top ten and general rankings, independent rankings are also provided for universities and institutes in the categories of agriculture and veterinary science; arts and design; business; engineering and technology; and medicine. [2]
Established in 1986, it is the oldest of school at LUMS. [4] [5] [6] It is named after Pakistani business tycoon Suleman Dawood, father of former commerce minister Abdul Razak Dawood and is Pakistan's only AACSB accredited school. [7] [8] As of 2016, the school is home to 23 doctorate students. [9]
