This course is designed for students with an interest in understanding and/or practicing nutrition and health education programs in a community context. Students will learn the issues and challenges surrounding the delivery of nutrition and health information programs to general and specific (at-risk and minority) populations.
Nutrition education promotes healthy-eating and exercise behaviors. [3] The work of nutrition educators takes place in colleges, universities and schools, government agencies, cooperative extension, communications and public relations firms, the food industry, voluntary and service organizations and with other reliable places of nutrition and health education information. Undergraduate students take courses for a variety of majors and minors in agriculture, health, and natural resources through the college's eight academic departments. [ 4 ] Dept. of Agricultural & Resource Economics (ARE): focuses on dealing and exploring issues related to the sustainable use of natural resources such as land, water and energy.

Graduates of HUHS's Diploma in Sports Nutrition (Dip.S.N.) program are eligible to take the International Society of Sports Nutrition's national board exam for Sports Nutrition Specialist. [9] Graduates of HUHS's B.H.S, M.S. or D.H.S. are eligible to take the certified clinical nutritionist exam through the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board.
