Menaka Suresh, (born Padmavathi Iyengar) known mononymously as Menaka, is an Indian actress and film producer. [1] She made her debut in the 1980 Tamil film Ramayi Vayasukku Vanthutta . In an acting career spanning from 1980 to 1987, Menaka appeared in over 125 films as a heroine, mostly in Malayalam .

Vettam (transl. Light) is a 2004 Indian Malayalam-language screwball comedy film directed by Priyadarshan and written by Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas and Priyadarshan. It was produced by Menaka, Keerthy Suresh, and Revathy Sureshkumar through Revathy Kalamandhir.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Mohanlal, Shankar, Menaka, M. G. Soman, Nedumudi Venu, C. I. Paul, Sukumari, Jagathy Sreekumar, Kuthiravattam Pappu, Sreenivasan and Baiju Santhosh. [1] Poochakkoru Mookkuthi marks the directorial debut of Priyadarshan, the first collaboration of Priyadarshan and Mohanlal as director and actor.
Keerthy Suresh was born on 17 October 1992 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. [4] [5] Her father, G. Suresh Kumar, is a filmmaker of Malayali [6] Nair origin while her mother Menaka is an actress of Tamil Iyengar origin. She has an elder sister Revathy Suresh. Until class four, Keerthy did her schooling in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. [7]
After graduation, G. Suresh Kumar founded a film production company, Bhanumathy Films, in 1980 with its debut production being a Tamil film titled Karayae Thodathae Alaykal, directed by Ashok Kumar, written by Priyadarshan and starring Vijayan and Menaka. However, the project was shelved.
Menaka was born during the churning of the ocean by the devas and asuras. She was one of the most mesmerising apsaras (celestial nymphs) in the three worlds, with quick intelligence and innate talent, but desired a family. Menaka shows Shakuntala to Vishvamitra. Vishvamitra was a prominent Hindu sage, who frightened the devas with his powers.
