Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering (KMSME) located in Cochin, Kerala, India, is the first marine engineering college in the state of Kerala. [1] Located in the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) main campus, KMSME started its first batch of four-year B-Tech marine engineering programme in 2003 and opened its own campus in 2007. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a government owned autonomous university in Kochi , Kerala, India. CUSAT is academically structured into 9 faculties: engineering, environmental studies, humanities, law, marine sciences, medical sciences and technology, science, social sciences and technology.
The CUSAT stampede was a fatal incident that occurred on 25 November 2023, at the CUSAT in Kochi, Kerala. Four students died and 64 others were injured when a crowd of people tried to enter an open-air auditorium where a concert by singer Nikhita Gandhi was about to begin, as part of the university’s annual tech festival ‘Dhishna’.
The student chapter was inaugurated on 14 March 2018 by then Hon. Vice Chancellor Dr. J Latha in the presence of Chairman IGBC Kochi Chapter, Mr. B R Ajith. The student chapter has an active participant from students of all departments of SOE in all the activities such as seminars, speeches by technical experts, competitions etc.

To apply to university, students must submit a single application via UCAS's online Apply service. The application itself requires the student to register to the service, giving a "buzzword" if applying through a centre, fill in personal details, write a personal statement and choose up to five courses to apply to, in no order of preference.
