The Omni Parker House is a historic hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1855.The current hotel structure dates to 1927. Located at the corner of School Street and Tremont, not far from the seat of the Massachusetts state government, the hotel has long been a rendezvous for politicians.
The historic district encompasses most of downtown Gardner's historic civic, commercial, and industrial buildings. It is centered around the five-way intersection of Vernon, Parker, Central, Main, and West Lynde Streets. Commercial and civic resources radiate mainly west and south from there, with three large surviving mill complexes to the east.

The club began meeting informally at the Albion House in Boston. [1] Publishing agent and lawyer Horatio Woodman first suggested the gatherings among his friends for food and conversation. [2] By 1856, the organization became more structured with a loose set of rules, with monthly meetings held over dinner at the Parker House. [1]
Parker was born in Temple, Maine, and spent much of his youth in Paris, Maine. In 1825, at age 20, he moved to Boston. He began working at Hunt's restaurant, Court Square, in 1832. A few months later he bought out the owner, and in 1833 opened Parker's Restaurant in the basement of 4 Court Square. [1] He married in 1839.
