Shaoxing [a] is a prefecture-level city on the southern shore of Hangzhou Bay in northeastern Zhejiang province, China. Located on the south bank of the Qiantang River estuary, it borders Ningbo to the east, Taizhou to the southeast, Jinhua to the southwest, and Hangzhou to the west.
The University is located on the south-west side of Shaoxing city and has managed to grow in popularity and strength over the last decade. The University was founded in 1909 as the Shankuai Primary Normal School. The influential modern Chinese author Lu Xun (1881-1936) is a native of Shaoxing. He was the education inspector for the school.
