Record annual anomalies in average European temperatures of around 1.2°C occurred in 2014 and 2015. These years were about 0.9°C warmer than 1934, the warmest year prior to 1979 according to values from the GISTEMP, HadCRUT4 and NOAAGlobalTemp datasets.
