Wi-Fi 6, or IEEE 802.11ax, is an IEEE standard from the Wi-Fi Alliance, for wireless networks . It operates in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, [ 9 ] with an extended version, Wi-Fi 6E , that adds the 6 GHz band. [ 10 ]
To increase data rate, 802.11n added optional support for a 0.4 μs guard interval. This provides an 11% increase in data rate. To increase coverage area, IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) provides optional support for 0.8 μs, 1.6 μs, and 3.2 μs guard intervals. [citation needed]
TDLS, or Tunneled Direct Link Setup, is "a seamless way to stream media and other data faster between devices already on the same Wi-Fi network" based on IEEE 802.11z and added to Wi-Fi Alliance certification program in 2012. Devices using it communicate directly with one another, without involving the wireless network's router.

The vulnerabilities impact all Wi-Fi security protocols, including WPA3 and WEP. Exploiting these flaws is complex but programming errors in Wi-Fi products are easier to exploit.
