The 2024–25 season is the 143rd season in the history of Stockport County Football Club and their first season back in League One since the 2009–10 season following their promotion from League Two in the previous season.
On 13 April 2024, Stockport secured promotion to League One, the third division of English football, for the first time in 14 years with a 2–0 win over Morecambe. [1] The following day, defender Fraser Horsfall was named in the League Two Team of the Season at the annual EFL Awards .

Stockport County FC moved there from Green Lane in 1902, needing to find a bigger stadium to play in following their entrance into the Football League two years earlier. Stockport County's first game at Edgeley Park was a 1–1 draw against Gainsborough Trinity in 1902. The Sykes family sold the site to Stockport County in 1932 for £1,600.
