A transport museum is a museum that holds collections of transport items, which are often limited to land transport (road and rail)—including old cars, motorcycles, trucks, trains, trams/streetcars, buses, trolleybuses and coaches—but can also include air transport or waterborne transport items, along with educational displays and other old transport objects. The museum was reestablished at the present site, as Railway Museum in Warsaw (Muzeum Kolejnictwa w Warszawie), in 1972. The main branch is the National Museum in Kraków (Polish: Muzeum Narodowe w Krakowie), established in 1879. It has several hundred thousand items in its permanent collections, kept mostly at the Main Building at 3 Maja St., and partly in eight other divisions around the city.
