While these 21st century veterans have navigated unforeseen challenges, their stories also illustrate the constants of the universal military experience, and give voice to today’s human experience of war.

As part of this project the post also relocated other memorials to a new viewing area in front of the post. Duxbury has lost one of it's young men in Afghanistan, Lt. Timothy Steele. Steele gave his life while serving in Kandahar Afghanistan on August 23, 2011. This new memorial was dedicated on Veteran's Day November 11, 2012.
