The Smoky Hills Public Television Corporation was founded in 1978, with the intent to start a non-commercial educational television station in western Kansas. This region is part of the Wichita–Hutchinson Plus market, an unusually large market that covers over 70 counties stretching from the Flint Hills to the Colorado border–almost three-fourths of the state.

"You Know What You Did" is the first episode of the third season of The Hills. It originally aired on MTV on August 13, 2007. In the episode, Lauren Conrad ends her friendship with former housemate Heidi Montag after suspecting that Heidi and her boyfriend Spencer Pratt fabricated rumors of a sex tape involving Lauren and her ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler.
The first half of season 3 made The Hills MTV's number one show and on cable among P12-34, reaching a total of 100 million viewers both online and on television. [2] The second half, which premiered in March, was the highest rated cable telecast of the year among P12-34, with an average of 4.7 million viewers.
