It is bordered by two other counties; Limerick to the east, and Cork to the south and east. It is separated from Clare to the north by the Shannon Estuary.

Waterville, County Kerry. Waterville, historically known as Coirean[2] (Irish: An Coireán, meaning 'little cauldron'), is a village in County Kerry, Ireland, on the Iveragh Peninsula. The town is sited on a narrow isthmus, with Lough Currane on the east side of the town, and Ballinskelligs Bay on the west, and the Currane River connecting the two.
Castleisland is in the east of County Kerry, 16 km east of Tralee and 19 km north of Killarney. The town is close to the Limerick border and close to the Cork border, and the main road in western and southern Kerry passes through here. The N21 from Limerick continues on to Tralee while the N22 goes to Killarney and other towns in southern Kerry.
