The Kadayawan Festival is an annual festival in the city of Davao in the Philippines.The festival is a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living.
The park had a soft opening in August 2007 during the Kadayawan festival. [2] It was inaugurated on December 15, 2007 and was named "People's Park" which was chosen among the 918 entries of the "Name the Park" contest organized by the city government. The winning name was by Romeo Sardon, a retired engineer and seaman. [1]
