The coffee shop was built in 1965 as part of the National Park Service 's Mission 66 program to upgrade visitor facilities, in order to increase visitor dining capacity.
Granite Park Chalet is located in the heart of Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana at an elevation of 6,693 feet above sea level.
