The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is a public university in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, and the only university in the province. Founded in 1969, the enabling legislation is the University Act, R.S.P.E.I 2000.
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Prince Edward Island will be Canada's newest medical school when it opens in the fall of 2025. The University has partnered with the Memorial University of Newfoundland to establish the island's first medical school. [2] [3] [4] [5]
Prince Edward Island has three publicly funded institutions: Holland College, Collège de l'Île (formerly Collège Acadie Î.-P.-É.), and the University of Prince Edward Island.
