Palisades-Kepler State Park The park is located in a forested area on the bank of the Cedar River marked by bluffs and ravines. While the state created the park in 1922, it was greatly expanded in 1928 through the estate of Louis H. Kepler and further developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

Emerson Bay State Recreation Area is a 12-acre (4.9 ha) state recreation area in Dickinson County, Iowa, United States, near the city of Milford.The recreation area is on the western shore of West Okoboji Lake, one of the Iowa Great Lakes, and is one of several state parks and recreation areas in the Great Lakes region.
There are more than 10 miles (16 km) of developed trails around the lake. Trails are marked with points of interest that correspond with trail brochures available at trail heads, the campground and the park office. There is also a 50-mile (80 km) Lake-to-Lake State Park Bike Route connecting Pine Lake and George Wyth Memorial State Parks.
The campground features 33 sites, all with electrical hookups, plus 2 camper cabins, modern restrooms, showers, and a holding tank dump station. There is a separate group camp with a dining hall, restrooms, and showers. Two lodges built in the 1930s and an open picnic shelter can be rented for private events. [3]

The campground has 69 camping units with modern showers, rest rooms and a trailer dump station. Advance campsite reservations can be booked through the park reservation system. Half of the campsites are available for self-registration on a first-come, first-served basis, while the remainder require reservations.
