Liquid XML Studio provides features for editing and validating XML documents. The GUI is a multi-document tabbed design and each document can be viewed in a text, graphical or split view. Document validation includes both checking for well formedness against the W3C XML standard and also checking validity against associated W3C XML Schema.
There is no 64-bit version offered, although the 32-bit version was supported for 32-bit processes on 64-bit operating systems. Versions 4 and 3 may be run concurrently. MSXML 4.0 SP3 is the most recent version released in March 2009, SP2 support expired in April 2010, [ 9 ] and MSXML 4.0 SP3 expired in April 2014.
XML Schema, published as a W3C recommendation in May 2001, [2] is one of several XML schema languages. It was the first separate schema language for XML to achieve Recommendation status by the W3C.
June 2002 Stylus Studio 2004 released a two way visual schema designer for XML Schema 1.0 and the first IDE to feature postmortem stack trace for XSLT with back mapping to the XSLT source. At that time it was the only XSLT debugger supporting cross-debugging between XSLT and Java extension functions.
W3C XML Schema is complex and hard to learn, although that is partially because it tries to do more than mere validation (see PSVI). Although being written in XML is an advantage, it is also a disadvantage in some ways. The W3C XML Schema language, in particular, can be quite verbose, while a DTD can be terse and relatively easily editable.

If each vocabulary is given a namespace, the ambiguity between identically named elements or attributes can be resolved. A simple example would be to consider an XML instance that contained references to a customer and an ordered product.
A client program connecting to a Web service can read the WSDL file to determine what operations are available on the server. Any special datatypes used are embedded in the WSDL file in the form of XML Schema. The client can then use SOAP to actually call one of the operations listed in the WSDL file, using for example XML over HTTP.
